I am so thrilled with Together We Can Change the World Day! It is the 1st Saturday of every month and the launch date is March 7, 2009. I have chosen Thank A Veteran as my "kick-off" project and I would love you to join me in thanking veterans, active military, and military families for their willingness and efforts in protecting our way of life. Military Families, Active Military, and Veterans

Project Homefront
While our troops take care of our homeland, we can help take care of their homes. This was originally created by the Home Depot to help over 1700 of their associates currently serving in the military, but they have extended the program, in coordination with Rebuilding Together and USA Freedom Corps, to help the families of all active duty military. This effort will help these families keep up their home lives and their homes while their loved ones are away.

Cell Phones for Soldiers
The Cell Phones for Soldiers program was started by thirteen year old Brittany Bergquist and her twelve year old brother Robbie of Norwell, MA. After hearing a news report about a local soldier who ran up a massive phone bill calling home from Iraq, they decided they wanted to do something to help. Donated cell phones will go to recyclers. The income generated goes to purchase calling cards for our troops.

Pets
Pets can be a great source of comfort to troops. Many American military adopted cats and dogs from overseas and want to return several opportunities to support our military in bringing their pet’s home:
· You can become a pet foster home, caring for a pet until a soldier is rotated home.
· Greet pets at the airport, helping them clear customs or making sure they catch connecting flights.
· Help to sponsor a mascot.

Defenders of Freedom
Defenders of Freedom.us is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting our men and women in uniform. They support our troops who are at war, wounded troops in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, and venues with 100% of all monies going to the troops.

A great way to help is to purchase a wrist band to show your support for our troops. They cost just $2.00 and are an easy way to keep our troops in your thoughts and prayers. Due to the nature of the tie-dye, no 2 bracelets will ever be the same.

Active Military

Pictures
Send pictures of the newest businesses that have opened in their hometown. It may seem a little silly to you, but it keeps them informed and lets them not be so surprised when they return.

Send Cards
Put their name in the local newspaper or on the radio station asking for a “Thinking of You” or “Thank You” card shower. Have everyone send cards to the station by a certain date. You pick them up and put them all together, then send them. You can just put them in a big box or compile them into a journal they can keep forever.

Frisbees
Send them a Frisbee. They will have hours of fun with their friends. They can play Frisbee anywhere.

Different Ways to Make the Days Go Faster
Make a list of different ways to make the days go faster. Make them funny to keep them and their buddies laughing. Once your have compiled it, send it to as many of the troops as you can. All of them will appreciate it.

Charity Greeting Cards and Stickers
Collect all the free charity greeting cards and stickers that come in the mail, as well as the left over cards you have from the holidays. They can all be sent to the troops for them to turn around and send them home.

Adopt a Soldier
My Soldier is a program that puts politics aside and lets US troops know someone back home cares. Sgt. Juan Salas, who served for 15 months in Iraq, established the program with the help of his school, Manhattanville College, when he returned from the war. The goal of the program is to show support for troops by establishing pen-pal relationships with them. When you enroll in the “No Cost” My Soldier program, you agree to adopt a soldier. You will receive a “starter kit” containing a red My Soldier bracelet to publicly show your support for American troops and guidelines for writing letters to your soldier. Greet Veterans
When you see a person in a military uniform, shake their hand and say “Thank you for serving our country.”

Recognize Our Military
Ask your elected officials at all levels to recognize our military.

Show Respect, Gratitude, and Thanks
Show respect, gratitude, and thanks to the troops by studying and understanding the contributions made by the military to American history, as well as the contributions they are making today to create history.

Talk to your schools and ask them to invite veterans into the classrooms so students can meet “real people” who have given to their country. Putting a human face on history can make it so much more powerful.

Cards and Notes
Send cards and notes to hospitalized veterans and those living in Veteran’s homes. So many times they feel alone and forgotten. Your cards and notes can let them know their contribution was appreciated and it will ease their loneliness.

Radio Stations
Make requests to your favorite radio stations to play patriotic theme songs in honor of our troops.

Local Organizations
If you are a member of your local Kiwanis, Lions, Rotary, Shriners, and Elks clubs and Masons, Soroptimist International, etc., make recommendations to honor our military, invite them as guest speakers, etc.

American Flag
Fly the American flag on your house, car, or business every day our troops are deployed.

Urge your community to fly the American flag from May 1 through June 14 – Flag Day

Thank You Notes
Send a Thank You Note to our troops. A “Million Thanks” is a year-round campaign to show your US Military Men and Women, past and present, your appreciation for their sacrifices, dedication, and service to your country through your letters, emails, cards, prayers, and thoughts. VA Hospital

Take your family or friends to a VA Hospital and just walk around and thank each one you see for their service. The impact of everyone will be huge.

Bootcamp

Well, I started out as an Alternate for the World Changer Reality Boot Camp and realized, as it progressed, that I was not prepared personally for meeting the criteria. I did follow every day and learned from everyone what challenges they were facing. What a wonderful group of people Ginny & Jacki chose, I have learned so much about myself, people, and the challenges of this business. I personally struggle with confusion and lack of focus and realize that these are my struggles. I am glad I had the opportunity to learn how to direct my efforts in this business and am very excited about the genuine heart of this company. This is an exciting world in which to work, innovative, progressive, and philanthropic. Thank you Ginny for building this business and giving it to us. Thank you Boot Campers for fulfilling your commitment and letting us watch your progress. I admire you all. For me, this is my business for the rest of my life and as I shift my life into full immersion and rebuild my lifestyle I will follow your advice, lessons, and embrace the TWCCTW attitude. Can you believe it is 2009?

It is amazing to realize that it is 2009 already! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! I am very excited, my computer is up and running (YEAH!!) and is no longer at an imminent crash level. My family and I had a wonderful Christmas Holiday and I am involved in the best at home business available!!! Things are looking so good for 2009.

I know we are carrying a lot of 2008's baggage but if ever there was a vehicle to take us into growth and success, it is My Power Mall. It has the business structure and the people we need to help us on our adventure. The World Changer Reality Boot Camp daily talks are a lifeline for me. I haven't been able to get comfortable with the individual approaches on a daily basis. It just hasn't been working for me, but there are 101 ways to promote this business and I know I will find my niche. Right now I am concentrating on businesses, nonprofits, I have purchased some leads, and continuing to follow the Boot Campers.

This will be a GREAT year.

7th Day of Boot Camp

Well, color me embarassed! I have totally spaced on blogging and reporting my progress. So sorry for those of you following my adventure.



I met a couple of people at Grocery Outlet that were willing to listen and interested enough to give me their information. I have followed up with email and phone calls. I hadn't heard back so I called again tonight and reached 1. She is a student and having finals so she has been very busy. She asked for an email to remind her and to include the link so she could look at the video as soon as she could take a breath. She sounded really interested. I followed the phone call with an email and am looking forward to talking with her again on Monday. I am still trying to reach the other lady I met.



Tonight I spoke with another gal who works at our local Fred Meyer. I needed labels for the homemade Kahlua I make at Christmastime and she helped me to find some. She was so nice, when she asked me if there was anything else she could do? I said well yes, I am part of a company called My Power Mall and they are holding a World Changer Reality Boot Camp. There are 25 people working the boot camp and I am following their lead and working it too. We are going from $0 per month to $2,000 per month in 60 days and we are gathering 10 people from our community to build with us. Would you be interested in adding an extra $2000 per month to what you already make? She smiled and said yes, do you have a card? I said yes I do and pulled out of my back pocket an invitation. I introduced myself, pointed out my name, email, link, and phone. She asked what she had to do? I pointed out the name of the website, the harmon family foundation, and told her that we each were encouraged to sponsor a nonprofit organization and to build our business under them and take them along with us so as we grew they grew. I told her that what we did to make money was shop on our own mall where over 1100 stores paid us rebates whenever we made a purchase and that if shopping was not how we liked to spend our money we buy American Express Gift Cards and receive rebates then use these cards to pay for our individual overheads like gas, utilities, groceries, taxes, etc. Then we follow the boot campers example and do just exactly what they are being taught to do and all our training and tools to do our business are supplied and free. I asked her for her name, as I pulled out a pad of paper and pen. She gave me her name and then I asked her to write down her email and phone number and told her I would give her a call to talk with her about the video but that I would give her time to look over the video and maybe call her on Saturday or did she work on Saturday? She said she would be working on Saturday but would be off on Friday, so I told her I would call on Friday. I thanked her for helping me, smiled, and told her it would be fun to work with her. She said thanks, smiled and walked away.



I do not find talking with people difficult. I don't know what it is, but I always feel uncomfortable about blindsiding a person in public. Now, if we are conversing and I'm asked what do you do, I have no problem talking about my work. So, as you can see I am very much out of my comfort zone but I definitely want this business and I will be successful!! As a sidebar, I had purchased leads and called nearly all of them before the BC, I have also been following up with them with emails and next week I will be making phone calls.



I thought I heard on one of the calls that there was a link in our back office for letters to send to businesses. I have been looking and have been having computer problems but I would appreciate someone mentioning on the call where I can find these letters. Thanks, Donna

5th Day of Boot Camp

Well, I forgot to blog last night but I have been out and about and open to talking with people. I am very committed to this business and have decided to change my approach. Just walking up to people in a mall or public arena is difficult for me. When I was doing the Mary Kay business that is the primary approach they wanted me to persue and I had difficulty doing it then as well. So, another approach is the business partnership.

I am going to redirect my nonprofit mall from TWCCTW to the Loaves & Fishes Center or the Oregon Food Bank. So many of the BC Team had the idea for using them as their gifting center and I like that lead, so I will do that as well. Since this is my family's nonprofit center I want to put in the nonprofit they like. I will talk to both this week. This is a great IDEA!! and I am very excited about doing something to improve our community's financial situation.

Yesterday, I spoke with a lady that indicated she thought this was a pyramid. We discussed what a pyramid was and how different MPM was from the multi-levels of the world. I told her about the win/win this organization offers and the support to nonprofits we give. She asked how and why the stores on the mall give rebates when they have their own website and people can buy on those and they don't have to pay out anything. I told her that it was a way to get people to shop on their websites and that MPM is growing with more and more people participating they are increasing the buying by giving us the rebate. I explained the AmEx Gift Card to her and she gave me her information and said that her daughter is the one to shop online. So, when I followed up, I sent her an email and discussed the mlm again, emphasising Ginny's experience and the concept of win/win and changing the world, and told her she can forward this email and link to her daughter if she wanted to get her input. I called her and there was no answer and no way to leave a message.

I spoke with my mechanic today about the MPM opportunity and he referred me to his wife, so I will speak with her today. He did not have her email address but will be in the office today for a short while. On Sunday I approached 5 people in Grocery Outlet and 2 people gave me their information. I sent emails to each and called them both. Neither answered so I left a message for 1 and the other didn't have a machine.

I know that I am not building as fast or as successfully as the BC Team, but I am not letting that direct me away from my commitment. This is the job I have chosen. This is the business that will help me to fulfill my dreams! I will do build this business everyday. I am on the road to success and I may not be speeding but I will be successful. I will persist and I will SUCCEED!!!! I might not find it comfortable to walk up to people in the mall but I can talk to people in other venues and I WILL!

My target this week is to contact businesses that support Loaves and Fishes with money and with people from their organization volunteering. I will make appointments with the corporate philanthropy organizer and I will present this progam to them. Prayers are always welcomed.

4th Day of Boot Camp

Well, we've had the 4th day of boot camp and I am still adjusting. I am not having any success as yet in approaching people. I went to the mall and thought I would "work" the food court and then sit and put up a tent card that says, "JOIN ME, GO FROM $0 to $2,000 per month IN 60 DAYS. Maybe about 10% of the people at the mall were alone, all the rest were in groups and you could see from body language very focused in their endeavors. Well, my confidence did not rise to the occasion. I asked one man if I could speak with him for a few minutes and he said yes but didn't look at me at all. I asked if he knew of anyone that would like to make $2,000.00 in 60 days and he said no. So, I said OK, thank you and left. Then, I thought I would sit down and put up the tent card and see if that worked. Well, one gentleman came over, he was with the police. He asked me if I was soliciting, I smiled and said, "No, not at all. I am not asking anyone for money or to spend anything. I simply want to give those that need to make $2000.00 a month information on how to do that and if they are interested I will take them with me on my 60 day journey. Don't people in these economic times need information that can help them financially? I will give them an invitation to look at my website and then they can make their decision in the privacy of their home, by themselves or with their family. Don't YOU think people would be interested in information like this? I just need a way to get them the information." He said that if I approached people one on one they would ask me to stop, but that he understood people might want this information, that he would probably look at something like this if he were not on duty and that he would not stop me from just sitting here, but someone else might. I smiled, thanked him, and gave him an invitation to my website. He was on duty so he wouldn't give me his name/em & phone #. That's ok because he has the information and he can act on it if he wants. I sat there for another hour and then left, the tent card didn't work. I was discouraged and frustrated, feeling that I had to find another way to do this business.

I went home and went to the computer and read the first 5 blogs of Team Boot Camp. I am so impressed how people remain upbeat and have such a good attitude! But, I also feel inadequate. Then I read Ed Brooks blog. He was having the same trouble I have been experiencing. Then I read the comments on his blog and the one from him Mom, Joann, was wonderful. Ed, I took her comments to heart, printed them so I could read them when I became disheartened and I am going out again today. Please thank her for me.

I realized in analyzing the attitudes and actions of the Team and listening to Ginny, the point is not really to go out with the purpose of meeting and talking to people. What I need to do is go out with my own purpose and be open and prepared to interacting with others. If I am not going out to buy something, then I need to schedule something: an appointment with the Executive Director of one of several nonprofits, go out and do Meals on Wheels, volunteer at the food bank, go to the Unemployment Department and be open and approachable. Well, new game plan, new day. Donna

3rd Day of Boot Camp

Today I was not able to get out and share with anyone face to face, so I did followups for the last 2 days. This is the f/u email I sent, I openned with their name and a mention of the personal things we discussed then:

I am currently doing a World Changer Reality Boot Camp. This journey starts at -0- dollars per month and takes us to $2,000.00 per month in 60 days. There is absolutely no selling. We do these things:

1. The first is signing up for a World Changer Mall.

2. Create a World Changer Foundation Mall for a local nonprofit organization.

3. Buy, under the nonprofit mall, American Express Gift Cards and then using those cards to buy everyday items at local stores, on your mall, pay your mortgage, your utilities, gas, gifts, in general any costs you incur on a daily basis, etc. When you buy on your mall a commission is generated from the store, so essentially you are turning your overhead into an income stream that repeats monthly and benefits you and your nonprofit.

4. Then you build your Team by sharing this opportunity with family, friends, acquaintenances, everybody is in need of help financially these days and since this business is designed to change the world, giving this business to others is very important. You really only need 5 people choose to be a member of your Team, then you help them get 5 and it compounds.
